Gaza Food Aid Spoils in Jordan Warehouses

Large quantities of food aid intended for Gaza are currently stored in warehouses in Jordan, the primary logistical center for humanitarian assistance to Gaza. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) maintains a main warehouse in Jordan where these supplies are kept. Due to ongoing restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza imposed by Israeli authorities, much of this aid, including food and medicines, has not been delivered. As a result, some of the food aid is deteriorating or spoiling while in storage. Additionally, trucks loaded with aid have been waiting at Israeli border crossings for several months, unable to enter Gaza. The situation highlights the logistical and political challenges facing humanitarian operations in the region.
