A 50-year-old man has been charged in relation to the murder of Danny McClean, which occurred in 2021, as well as an attempted murder that took place earlier in 2024. The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed by authorities, was apprehended by police in North Belfast on Tuesday, May 13. In addition to the murder and attempted murder charges, the individual is also accused of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, among other firearms offences. The accused is scheduled to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, May 14.
